PASLA 2026 Annual Conference

The Challenge

Pan Asia Securities Lending Association (PASLA)’s Annual Conference on Asian Securities Finance is the “super connected” flagship gathering for a highly specialised, relationship‑driven industry, rotating each year to a different Asian financial hub. The goal is to showcase PASLA’s role as the premier regional platform for securities finance.  

For the 20th edition in Bangkok, PASLA needed the event to scale to record attendance of 450+ global delegates over three days, keep content and networking tightly choreographed, and deliver a premium yet warm experience for delegates, exhibitors and sponsors.  

Strategy

After collaborating on the previous edition in Macao, LORE’s strategy focused on the challenges of the Shangri‑La, Bangkok, venue size, with function rooms spread over two towers and multiple floors and the provision of full flexibility and solutions to changes for a dynamic event with multiple stakeholders.  

Key strategic moves included: 

  • Aligning the programme with deliberate gaps and formats that privileged networking and peer exchange over one‑way content.  

  • Designing an efficient floorplan – after two site checks – that split the main ballroom between a plenary and an exhibition hub while threading in 21 sponsor meeting rooms and ancillary spaces for side events.  

  • Deploying a conference website and event app to centralise registration, agenda updates, attendee information and networking choices, ensuring everyone’s best planning.  

The Approach

Over three days, LORE successfully executed the conference featuring few highlights: 

  • A two‑day plenary stage for 50 industry leaders and experts to discuss market dynamics, regulatory issues and the future for Asian securities finance.  

  • An exhibitors’ hub with a Thai Tuktuk served as the social and hospitality centre, complemented by 21 private sponsor rooms.   

  • Facilitation of smooth transitions for the agenda that included curated workshops and breakfasts, focused roundtables, a board meeting and AGM, a welcome cocktail, and a networking reception, alongside satellite experiences such as wellness moments and a podcast room. 

  • A dynamic red‑carpet gala dinner transformed the plenary ballroom within an hour, featuring a secret reveal, an award ceremony, a live DJ, Thai drumming and kickboxing performances with LED screen and lighting effects, a floating‑market set-up and a photo booth, with the tuk-tuk taking on its night party look. 

LORE managed all aspects of the event, ensuring seamless execution from inception, including website and tools development; registration services; technical, production, and logistics support for exhibitors and sponsors throughout. 

Results

  • Nearly 94% of conference participants registered in advance. 

  • Delegates used both the event app and the private web platform to navigate the agenda.  

  • Consistently positive feedback from delegates and sponsors, with “connected, knowledgeable, warm, fun, intelligent, and on point” emerging as top keywords. 

  • Many attendees and sponsors already signalled their intent to return. 

  • Sustainability goals achieved
