Les Ailes Brisées Gala

The Challenge

Le Souvenir Français association led this project to commemorate the importance of remembrance overseas. The “Les Ailes Brisées” association assists both civilian and military aviators and navigators wounded during operations for their country. This noble NGO provides long-term support to the injured and their relatives, assists with difficulties related to injuries, and facilitates their rehabilitation. The goal of the “Les Ailes Brisées” Charity Gala is raise funds for the association so they can continue to help pilots and their families. With a limited budget, LORE was challenged to stage a prestigious charity event that successfully brings together for the first time, the four French Gastronomy and Wine associations in Hong Kong and Macau for an exceptional gala dinner. This was annual pro bono work for LORE because we recognise the value in supporting organisations that positively impact communities.

The Approach

Taking the necessary time to form a deep understanding of the military background of the charity and the heavy protocol involved with guests enabled LORE to create and construct a stunningly beautiful gala for Les Ailes Brisées. Smart, creative theatrics and visual storytelling gave space to create a series of touching moments through video and live performance. The night was full of unforgettable moments, from a video comparing what the Moon, Burgundy wine, Jules Verne, and a WWI French airman's organisation have in common, to an aerial ballet of radio controlled planes. For the very first time, four of the most prestigious gastronomic & wine institutions joined forces to offer guests a night to remember: L’Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne, The Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, La Commanderie de Bordeaux and La Chaine des Rôtisseurs. The evening respected the heavy military protocol of the invited military personnel for an exceptionally touching charity gala. LORE delivered a “tour de force” despite a budget at its minimum, we were able to bring conviviality and warmth at its peak.

They were ambitious due to their uniqueness, a first in Hong Kong, embracing rare themes such as remembrance, and military honour. We want to thank you for your continuous creativity, professionalism, and patient flexibility. With grace and humour, you gave us the peace of mind that your relentless commitment will create two perfect soirees. Thank you once more.
