4th Edition Nuits des Idees

 

The Challenge

LORE worked alongside the French Consulate of Hong Kong & Macau to transform the Hong Kong edition of the global Night of Ideas event, from a physical event into a high performing hybrid/virtual experience. It was imperative that the event solution was flexible and able to adapt to the evolving pandemic restrictions, while attracting the largest public audience possible.

A key measure of success was not only the audience viewing figures, but the visibility for partners and sponsors of the event including the Hong Kong Museum of Art, who kindly shared their venue with the French Consulate to host the event.

The Approach

The 4th Edition Night of Ideas was hosted on the French Consulates Facebook and YouTube Live accounts, to gain maximum audience numbers. Both free to view platforms were easy to access for a diverse range of audiences and encouraged additional advertisement in the lead up to the event.

LORE styled a lifestyle stage set up in the Hong Kong Museum of Art, utilising the newly built Plasma wall to showcase the event key visual. The event took on a hybrid form, which allowed local speakers from Hong Kong to take part, live, from the HKMoA. International speakers, from France, were able to dial in and participate using Zoom. This hybrid form allowed live panel discussions to take place between Hong Kong & France, with no border limitations.

It was vital that the event had a high-quality production value and did not feel like a typical Zoom call. To curate an engaging experience for the audience, LORE designed and implemented dynamic and visually impactful layouts that incorporated the key visual and gave the impression that all the speakers were connected even though physically apart. The dynamic style resonated with the audience and helped create a human connection to encourage conversation on social media, including live Q&A from an international audience.
